Purpose of the job |

• To set example for Front of house team by delivering the highest standards of service and presentation that meets customers and guests' needs and exceeds their expectation.
• To assist senior staff members with bar, restaurant and function service operations, onsite guest relations and housekeeping.

Duties and Responsibilities |

Business Planning and Strategy Implementation |
||||
• Work to budget and forecasts on sales and cost controls
• Contribute into a hotel plan to achieve objectives relating to Customer Service, Team building, Health & Safety, Sales and Profit. Put plan into action, cascading down to the team through everyday service.
• Contribute towards promotional activity plans for revenue areas (e.g. food and drink promotions Mother’s Day).
• Sustain cost control measures including stock, supplies, and rostering.
• Sustain financial controls and administrative standards throughout the hotel, complying with all set group requirements (e.g. ordering, cash handling and security).

People Management |

• Act as a role model for leadership within their team (exemplify values and standards).
• Communicate to the team through active participation in meetings:
- Daily “10am” meetings. - Weekly Top Team meetings. - Three monthly staff meetings. • Respond to enquiries and requests from colleagues positively to promote effective and friendly working relationships.
• Create an environment of support, wellbeing and openness to train and develop the skills and confidence of colleagues from Day 1 of employment.
• Participate in all company training – acting as a facilitator to get the maximum impact out of any investment in training made.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with other departments within the business to ensure effectiveness.
• Actively participate in the staff Rota scheduling.

Driving Sales and Increasing Profitability |
||||
• Deliver great customer service to win repeat business.
• Maximize all inhouse sales opportunities – “single to a double” to “tempting a dessert order”.
• Assist in implementation of F&B areas Sales and Marketing plan.
• Personally interact and network with customers, suppliers, and the local community, create and sustain ongoing positive relationships.
• Monitor ongoing revenue (excluding room sales), taking appropriate action to achieve or exceed set targets.
• Be accountable for cash management throughout the business, conduct thorough investigations for all discrepancies, maintain financial records as required.

OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE |

• Maintain high standard of guests’ experiences in the hotel by:
• Oversee and participate in the smooth running of daily service, finding opportunities to provide special experiences where possible.
• Ensure all maintenance requirements are reported and acted upon to maintain to a high standard of service and complying with safety requirements.
• Ensure brand and hygiene standards are maintained and trained into all staff.
• Implement appropriate checks to provide a welcoming, friendly environment for customers throughout their stay.
• Coach and motivate your team to a high standard of customer service.
• Take ownership for operational comments made by customers and develop a team who take accountability for their own actions.
• Ensure you and your team’s attire and presentation are of the highest standard.
• Value all customer feedback, and where customer have had a great time encourage them to review on Trip Advisor.
• Ensure best physical environment possible for customer. Maintain the ambiance by controlling heat, light, background music, linen, glassware, dinnerware, and utensil quality and placement, monitoring food presentation, housekeeping and service.

Compliance with Legislation |

• Monitor compliance with procedures for Health & Safety, GOSH and Fire regulation.
• Take ownership for statutory responsibilities. e.g. Liquor license, Security, Food Hygiene.
• Ensure all employees are trained to the required levels and comply with their statutory obligations.
• Report and take appropriate action on any non-compliance of process or procedure
Attend relevant training as required by the company and adhering to all company policies, procedures and legislative requirements. |
