An opportunity has arisen to join the kitchen team at The Longlands Inn & Restaurant. We are a 4* Inn and restaurant with 6 luxury stone-built self-catering cottages and a blend of 11 modern spacious and more traditional cosy rooms. Situated on the Lancashire/Cumbria border, The Longlands Inn is adjacent to Lancaster Canal and Tewitfield Marina providing a wonderful countryside location.
Our restaurant here at The Longlands prides itself on serving locally sourced pub food at its best with approximately 80 covers and an further 50 covers in the bar, with additional outside dining space. A lively country inn, with bags of character, you know there’ll be pressure, but there’s also great scope to put your own flair into the menu. We’re looking for a Sous Chef to hit the ground running!
What we’re looking for from you
To manage the daily preparation, cooking and service of high-quality food in a timely manner.
To comply with Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) in all aspects of storage, preparation, cooking, service, cleaning and maintenance with audits and checklists, to report and act upon any issues
To perform checks of all goods from suppliers
To deal with suppliers to resolve any issues that may arise to compromise the standards required, and report this to the Head Chef
To monitor stock movement and be responsible for ordering
To assist the kitchen team to maintain and improve quality, standards and cleanliness required by Head Chef
To assist Head Chef in creating new recipes and menus writing
To assist with the acceptance and storage of deliveries and make sure that all relevant company procedures are adhered to
To manage kitchen team in food preparation and cleaning duties, ensuring all SOPs are followed correctly
